Racketlon WC 2012 (TV4 Sport)

Racketlon WC 2012

Today was a big day for Upright Sounds and sports history. The 2012 Racketlon World Championships took place in Enskede Rackethall, south of central Stockholm.

Racketlon is a combination of sports, just like Triathlon, in which you run, swim and cycle. Instead, in Racketlon each player competes in Table Tennis (ping-pong), Badminton, Squash and Tennis. Each sport is played for 21 points, and the grand total of points from all the events decides the winner.

Kari Heino was on location, solely responsible for the sound, together with Motions producing the womens’ and mens’ finals. This became an unexpectedly complex production sound wise, using 14 microphones and a total of 28 channels for the live broadcast. None the less, with good preparations and planning this became a legendary production as predicted by Motions, and everyone were beyond satisfied with the broadcast.

National Football League (Viasat)

Upright Sounds is on a roll! Viasat Sport has extended their broadcasting rights for the American National Football League (NFL) and Kari Heino will be broadcasting the whole season live for Viasat Sport starting Sunday the 9th of September.

With no previous contact with American Football, other than once accidentally owning an official Oakland Raiders winter hat, this will be a completely new experience for Kari, especially watching the world famous Super Bowl for the first time.

2012 FIA Formula One World Championship (Viasat Motor)

Upright Sounds goes Formula One! Previously Kari Heino has worked for Viasat with sports events such as the Premier League, NHL, The FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and WRC Rally Sweden.

Kari will start off by broadcasting the Hungary Grand Prix live from Budapest on Sunday the 29th of July. Really exciting times are ahead, especially since Kari is Finnish and a great fan of Finnish Formula One drivers like Mika Häkkinen, Kimi Räikkönen and Heikki Kovalainen.

Hela Sverige Bakar (Sjuan)

Great news again for Upright Sounds! Kari Heino has been hired to work on Sweden’s version of BBC’s The Great British Bake Off, which is a show very similar to MasterChef, but with baking instead of cooking. There are 12 contestants starting off headed for a final of 3 in the tenth episode, competing against each other for the grand price of getting to publish their own baking book. Host for the show is Tilde de Paula, whom Kari is familiar working with from TV4‘s daily morning show Nyhetsmorgon. The jury consists of two experts, Johan Sörberg, who is coach for the Swedish national baking team, and Birgitta Rasmusson, author of the well known and cherished Swedish baking book classic “Sju sorters kakor”.

The outdoors studio and location at Taxinge Slott is truly astonishing and stunningly beautiful and it is a pleasure working there.

Make sure not to miss this show coming this fall on Sjuan, because it is going to be really great!
